PROJECT #642: School Uniforms for Disadvantaged Students – Kurdistan Province – Villages around Sanandaj

  • Beneficiaries: 332 Children
  • Project Cost: 200 million Tomans – USD 4,980

With the support of the Yarra Foundation, a school uniform project was carried out for disadvantaged and orphaned students living in remote villages across Kurdistan Province and the outskirts of Sanandaj. In these cold mountainous regions, having a warm jacket and suitable clothing is essential for students to attend school regularly and continue their education.

Students in need are identified through close collaboration with school principals and teachers, following a careful assessment of their family’s financial and living conditions. After taking each student’s measurements, high-quality school clothing is purchased at the best possible price and distributed to them.

This initiative meets one of the students’ most basic needs, eases some of the financial burden on their families, and helps ensure that children can continue their education without facing the significant barriers caused by a lack of appropriate clothing. Yarra Foundation’s support for this project represents an important step toward protecting every child’s right to education and creating equal opportunities for disadvantaged children, while giving them hope for a brighter future.
