Sayarak Toroq and Sar Pol Zahab – Sixth Year

Over the past six years, the Yarra Foundation, in partnership with the Sayarak Toroq and Sar Pol Zahab community learning centres, has supported the continued operation of these centres by funding the salaries of their educators, ensuring that disadvantaged children continue to benefit from their services.

During this reporting period, approximately 2,100 children participated in the centres’ programs, with 360 children holding active membership cards.

The learning centres provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow and develop. In addition to reading books, they participate in storytelling, educational and construction-based games, painting, and drama activities that strengthen essential skills such as concentration, creativity, self-confidence, and social interaction. The centres also promote personal hygiene education and provide healthy snacks as part of their holistic support.

The greatest strength of this program lies in its dedicated educators. By understanding the children’s living conditions and individual needs, these educators serve as trusted mentors and positive role models. Through the continued support of the Yarra Foundation, these centres are able to sustain their work and create lasting positive change in the lives of thousands of children.
