In 2013, a group of passionate Iranian immigrants settled in Melbourne, a city celebrated for its vibrant and multicultural spirit. They brought with them not just dreams but a deep desire to make a difference. They saw the struggles of children in their homeland and decided to act. This is how the Yarra Foundation for Disadvantaged Children Inc. came to life in 2012. Our foundation is more than just an organisation; it’s a community of dedicated volunteers based in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. These volunteers work tirelessly to support our mission, organising fundraising events, managing aid projects, and ensuring the smooth transfer of funds to our initiatives in Iran.
At the Yarra Foundation, our mission is to transform the lives of disadvantaged children by breaking the barriers of poverty and inequality. We are dedicated to alleviating the struggles of those facing poverty, disability, and hardship. We focus on empowering children in Iran by supporting their access to quality education, a crucial step toward a brighter, more equitable future. Through our initiatives, we aim to provide relief and lasting change, allowing these young lives to thrive and reach their full potential.

Recognised as a charity by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) (ABN 85168357033) and registered with the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC) (ARBN 616517492), the foundation has a strong foundation to create a significant impact.
Our journey doesn't stop there. We are continuously improving our organisation and governance. By collaborating with The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), we ensure that our operations are secure, transparent, and free from fraud and corruption.
