Yarra Stationery Campaign 2026

This year, we're holding the eighth Yara Stationery Campaign, while poverty has spread so much that basic needs like school supplies have become a luxury for more children. In many vulnerable Iranian families, choosing between buying food or school supplies for their kids has become a tough decision.

Last year, with your help, we managed to provide school stationery packages to students in need in deprived areas of 7 provinces in Iran. This year, our goal is to provide supplies for over 4,000 disadvantaged students, helping them grow and hopefully bringing a small smile to their faces. Each school supply package costs around $7. Your support for this campaign will help create a better future for these children.

The initial goal for the campaign is set at $10,000, and if we reach this amount, we'll aim for more. By supporting the Yara Foundation's school supplies campaign and inviting more friends to participate, we can all help make education possible for underprivileged children in Iran and create a better future for our country!

From Dey to Spring

These days, we are going through difficult and anxiety-filled times. Amid all the uncertainty and insecurity, underprivileged children need safety, comfort, and support more than ever. At Yara, we believe that no child in Iran should be left alone during hard times.

With small yet meaningful contributions, we can make a real difference in a child’s life, support that might help a child sleep a little more peacefully tonight and begin tomorrow with greater hope.

The goal of this campaign is to support children who have been affected by the events of Dey (January) and the ongoing war. Given the scale and variety of hardships children have faced in recent months, this campaign aims to provide flexible support tailored to each child we are able to reach. This includes a wide range of needs; from basic necessities such as shelter and food, to medical care, education, and psychological support.

In these difficult days, we stand together so that no child in our homeland is left alone.

Stationery Campaign 2025

This year, we launched the Yarra Stationery Campaign in response to the worsening economic conditions in Iran, where many families are struggling to afford even the most basic school supplies. For some, the situation is so severe that parents are forced to choose between feeding their children and sending them to school, putting many children’s education and future at risk.

With the support of Yarra Foundation and its community, the campaign aimed to provide school stationery packages to over 4,000 disadvantaged students. Each package, costing just $7, represents more than supplies—it brings hope, dignity, and a chance for a better future. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised $25,691, exceeding our target of $20,000, enabling us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children in need.

During National Blood Donor Week, we launched the Yarra Blood Donation Week campaign, bringing together two meaningful causes: saving lives through blood and plasma donation, and supporting children’s education. While these donations help patients in need every day, many children in Iran continue to face challenges due to poverty and limited access to education.

Through the efforts of Yarra Foundation and its supporters, this campaign connected immediate life-saving actions with long-term impact. Funds raised will support essential needs for disadvantaged children, including hygiene supplies and educational equipment for children with disabilities—helping them not just survive, but build a better future.

Supporting children who have been left out of education by bringing learning directly to them through mobile classrooms in underserved communities. Even a small contribution can help keep a child connected to education, giving them the chance to return to formal schooling and rebuild their future. Your support can restore hope, belonging, and opportunity for children who were forced to leave school too soon.

Our initial campaign target has been set with the aim of expanding access to education for as many children as possible, with plans to grow the program beyond its first milestone. By supporting and sharing this campaign, you can help break the cycle of disadvantage and create lasting change for vulnerable children in Iran.

Once again, another flood has hit a deprived province like Sistan and Baluchestan. Unfortunately, no one is thinking about the infrastructure of the region to prevent disasters like this. However, what we can do is provide fundamental and long-term assistance to the educational structure of the flood-affected areas after the floodwaters recede. Based on past experiences, once the floodwaters recede, the region and the affected people will soon be forgotten, and unfortunately, the reconstruction of the damaged facilities either never happens or is severely delayed due to Iran's current problems.

This year's campaign is aimed at providing over 3000 underprivileged students with necessary stationery, enabling them to traverse their journey of growth and education. A donation as low as $10 translates to providing the necessary resources for a full academic year for a student. Your participation and partnership in this campaign hold the power to not only uplift the spirits of these children but also to enable them with a brighter future.

Our initial campaign target has been set at $10,000 AUD, with the expectation of surpassing this milestone upon its accomplishment. By joining hands with the Yarra Stationery Campaign and extending invitations to your acquaintances, we collectively possess the potential to broaden the educational landscape for underprivileged children in Iran.

Whenever there is a natural disaster, everyone has an emotional response and reaction. People of all ages experience emotions differently, at different times, even years after an incident.
At Yarra Foundation, we are trying to raise awareness, and funds to support distressed children who are suffering financially and emotionally from the recent earthquake in Khoy, Iran. On top of their emotional well-being, this natural disaster can have a long-term impact on their physical, educational, and social development.
Our goal is to raise funds and find safe channels for supporting vulnerable children. Donations to this campaign ensure that children most affected by earthquake will have access to hygiene, health, and educational services as well as social support.

In 2022, donated stationery is still an essential need for some children around the world. At Yarra Foundation after 5 successful campaigns in previous years, we are honoured to rely on your ongoing support to help the children in need one more time.
The initial target this year is $20,000 and your contribution can help 3000 students to stay connected to education and stay in a safer place like their school instead of streets.
After Covid, these kids are finding their way back to school and not having a basic pen and pencil pack will put them at risk of dropping off school forever.
Donate to the Yarra Foundation Stationery campaign and introduce this campaign to your family and friends. Let everyone know about this act of kindness, and let them know that we can change the future for these kids with our donations, small or big.

The current campaign marks the fifth anniversary of Yarra Foundation’s annual school stationery campaigns. Instead of rambling about the obvious level of poverty and its effects on school kids, we will cut to the chase and lay out the facts and outcomes from previous campaigns and our plans for this round.
As you are aware, last year’s campaign was focused on purchasing tablet computers and internet access given the situations caused by COVID-19 pandemic. With your generous support, we were able to purchase and distribute over 400 tablet computers. In addition to this, more than 3,000 stationery packages were purchased and distributed. However, in the current campaign, we will again focus on stationery packages given the high probability of the school’s re-opening. Also, we are confident that the tablets from the previous year and the devices collected during our recent Used Tablets Campaign would sufficiently cover the remote learning demands.

Although life is going back to normal in some parts of the world, the Covid-19 pandemic is only escalating in some other parts. Virtual education remains the only way to access education for many children and the inadequate supply of electronic devices puts them behind their classmates. The current campaign aims to collect and refresh your used laptop and tablet computers here in Australia and send them to these disadvantaged students. We can also accept your kind cash donations towards covering the cost of transporting these devices.

You see them at street corners and might think that they do belong to an organised mob that’s ruining their life and abuses your emotions. The reality is worse than that, most of these kids are working independently and are genuinely trying to provide for their families. Many of these kids are working in sweatshops, and you never came across them. They are not even accounted for in the national census.
The United Nations Convention on the rights of the children indicates that children under the age of 18 should not work, however, child labour is on rising as the poverty rate soars. This imposes several risks on both the children and the society in general such as illiteracy, malnutrition, communicable diseases, addiction, self-harm, suicide, sexual abuse, violence, and vicious cycle of poverty.

This project will be handled with the support of a reputable charity in Iran for those children who are illegally exploited in the most remote and deprived areas.

The Education Van and its teachers will enable disadvantaged children to return to the classroom and learn. Most children who are employed do not have time to go to school and study, and they are relied on as a financial provider for the family in poverty, meaning these children are missing out on vital education.

On this Persian New Year’s Eve, we are hoping to see you by our side in this campaign, so that together we will be able to protect more of these innocent children and take a step closer to the eradication of child labour in Iran.

It is predicted that this year, over 3 million students will drop out of school given the current circumstances around COVID-19 in Iran. This is mainly due to a severe lack of access to equipment such as tablets or laptop computers. Students are going to require these devices to stay connected to their schools and teachers. In the current economic crisis, it is not possible for many families to provide such equipment.

Yarra Foundation aims to provide stationery material and tablet computers for these affected students. Last year, we spent $10 for each stationery package, however, this year we will need to consider an additional $250 per tablet. This unpredictable cost is occurring whilst the Yarra Foundation has lost 25% of its income due to cancellation of fund-raising events we had planned.

Yarra Foundation’s charity markets in Melbourne and Sydney had to be cancelled due to the ongoing situation and the risks that any sort of gathering could impose. This can have a negative impact on our expected income and the number of students we can support this year.
We are running this campaign to fill this income gap so we can continue to support the disadvantaged students in Iran through several projects. We invite all supporters of Yarra Foundation, our volunteers, businesses and the stallholders of cancelled markets, to donate to this campaign so we can continue to support the students who are expecting this support more than ever now.
Your donations will be fully spent in various educational projects e.g. providing stationery, school transportation and school renovations. The smallest of donations would be invaluable in these difficult times.
Please accept our most sincere gratitude for always supporting our online campaigns and other charity events.
