Yarra Foundation became aware of this poor family of four (parents plus two young children) living in the slum areas of the city of Isfahan when they were brought into our attention. On investigation, we found out that they could not afford any accommodation and were sheltering in a mosque.

The parents were taking care of everyday chores in the mosque in return for shelter plus a very low income which was hardly enough to cover basic living expenses let alone children’s education costs. As a result, the children, a brother and sister, could not attend school and were very close to become child labours. Yarra Foundation has helped to provide financial support to these children to keep them at school and preventing them from becoming child labours.
