I am a passionate supporter of equity in education. I believe that we can make a positive impact on society and the economy through good governance and education.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue higher education in Tehran, my hometown, and continue my study further here in Australia. I have studied engineering over a decade ago, and since then I have worked in the most remote locations in the Middle East, South America and the Asia Pacific regions to build new rail lines, roads, bridges, dams and mines to enhance the long-term capacity of regional communities and improve living standard. During my years of deployments, I have realised that not having access to the education can make a tremendous impact on your life and people living around you. Everyone has the right to education, regardless of where you live, what their race is or whether or not they have a disability.
I do believe that I can be a catalyst in Yarra Foundation by supporting the board for strategy development, effective risk management and governance to build a sustainable Not-For-Profit to make a broader impact. I am always trying to do my best and encouraging others to do the same to ensure we deliver on our promise to Yarra supporters. This is going to remain a cornerstone of my commitment to Yarra Foundation.
